A nice coastal nose with damp harbour ropes, cigar leaves and citrus notes.

The palate has a big kick with peat smoke, lots of chocolate fudge and some hints of charred lemon. Let it breath and a some dried banana chips come through.

The finish is smooth and warming, expect good heat, black pepper and salted liquorice.

The region Islay Although Islay is part of the Islands it insists on being a Whisky region of its own. Despite the fact that Islay is the smallest of islands of the Hebrides but being home of 8 distilleries with Bowmore the second oldest of the operating distilleries in Scotland emphasizes this exceptional status. The expression of Islay single malt whiskys along with whiskys from the island of Skye is dominated by peat.
