One of the longest wash fermentation periods in the Scotch Whisky Industry coupled with an unusual sister spirit stills set up helps achieve the Distillery Manager’s goal of producing a malt of remarkable character for its age.
A multiple award winning Single Malt Scotch Whisky - Gold medal at World Spirit Competition San Francisco 2023, Gold medal at the IWSC 2022 and Gold medal at the Whisky Challenge Final 2022 - distilled at Lindores Abbey where over 500 years after Brother John Cor, a Lindores monk, was commissioned by King James IV to turn 8 bolls of malt into Aqua Vitae.
The resultant new make spirit is further enhanced by maturation in a selection of Bourbon Barrels, Wine Barriques and Sherry Butts.
Colour: Golden Nose: Elegant, soft, mellow vanilla, caramel notes playing with orchard fruits and sweet pear drops. Reminiscent of toffee apples.
Palate: Smooth with a creamy texture and a perfect balance of mellow vanilla, dried fruits, citrus touches with a hint of spice.
Finish: Medium length, delicate but lingering finish.

The region Lowlands The lowland is the area of Scotland North of the border with England stretching to a line drawn from Glasgow in the West to Dundee in the East. The border runs just a few miles South of Perth. Although quite a number of distilleries have been operating in the past only three remained – Auchentoshan, Glenkinchie and Bladnoch, the most southerly.
